Subject: Potential member seeks to Turn 24" long by 13" diameter drums.

    Hi Roger,

Hope you're having a pleasant experience today.

I was referred to your organization by Mike at Guild of Oregon woodworkers.

I'm looking to start some wood-turning projects but currently don't have a shop set up.   I'd like to get more involved and produce some prototypes of drums similar to Djembes.

I was lucky enough to have lathe experience in junior high and high school shop many years ago but lack the experience I figure I'd need to turn big pieces of wood.

In any case, I figured I'd introduce myself as I'd like to interface with  some people doing these sort of things so I can figure out how to realize my goals.

Know anyone i could speak to who turns large pieces?   I'd want to be working on pieces on the order of 24" long with a diameter of about 13".  A step down would be on the order of 16"by 11" diameter.

Or, if you think general membership and/or a particular class/s are in order, let me know.

    Much appreciated,

Ben Compani PhD. Informatics for Biology and Medicine.
