Free Cherry, Black Locust, Oak and Cedar

The following is an email excerpt from the homeowner. I went out there this morning. The smaller cut rounds have quite a bit of checking, but there are a couple of large black locust logs as well as some 4'+ long wild cherry logs that look good. There is one fairly straight cherry log that is about 20' long as well. Also, some of the larger cedar rounds look good, but will need to be cut into chunks to get out. The homeowner is ok with cutting on her property. The folks who cut the trees down are coming back Friday to drag out the cherry logs and cut them up. If you are interested in them, but can't get out before then, contact her and she will have them cut to whatever length you want. Here is her email:

We just had to have several wild cherry trees cut down on our property because they were leaning.  Also, a giant black locust tree had to come down before it took out some wires.  We also had to have a giant pin oak taken down because of storm damage.   We also had to have several large cedars taken down because they were dying.  The tree company has cut all but one cherry into rounds.  We do not need more wood.  We live between Lake Oswego and Portland.  Do you know anyone who may want some wood?  Please call and leave us a message if you have any suggestions.   We will give any on it away for free.

      Thank you,

    Nadine Hayden

Thanks Kevin. This sounds like a good one. Too bad I am out of town.
