    I received a call from Jim Mccaffrey in Lake Oswego.  He had a box elder tree come down on his house.  The arborist has gotten it on the ground. The arborist and Jim both say the tree has nice reds in it common to box elder.  If you are interested in the wood call Jim.  The basic deal would be that if you take wood you make something from the tree for Jim and his family.  Jim estimates the diameter to be 20" but kept telling me it was a big tree so it may be larger.  Jim McCaffrey 503-490-6982.

    Myself and a fellow turner made it out today. Jim and Terri are gracious hosts. There's still a lot of wood left (more than can be seen in the attached photo). I saw a lot of figure in the wood we cut. Bring a saw!
