Steve Newberry — Turning a Kuska Cup
Steve Newberry — Kuska Cup
Our own Steve Newberry will demonstrate how to turn a Kuska.
What is a Kuska you ask? It is a type of drinking cup traditionally crafted by the Sami people of northern Scandinavia from carved birch burl. Today Kuskas are generally hand-carved using traditional carving tools.
Google "Kuska" - it has a fascinating history.
Steve will show us how to make one on a lathe - should be interesting!
On-Line Demo
The Multnomah Art Center will still be closed so this will be another on-line meeting using Zoom. Meeting information will be sent to all members a few days before the meeting.
